Concrete Pump Mixer – How Does it Work

A concrete pump mixer is designed such that it controls the mixing and pouring of the concrete mixture on the foundation. Usually, they are available in two types, such as positive displacement and dynamic pump. They also have different operating conditions.

As the name suggests, the positive displacement pump working mixer is a very old model and can only mix a limited amount of concrete. This is the best for mixing smaller concrete amounts. But when you need to pour larger concrete quantities, then you go for the dynamic model of concrete pump working. As it has a large capacity than the previous models, this type of mixer can handle almost all types of concrete size. But this also comes at the price of the high cost of electricity.

While operating the concrete mixer pump, one has to take care of few things. The first thing that should be taken care of is that it should not operate at a higher speed than the rate at which concrete is pouring. The pressure variation between the water supply and the moving objects will make the process of conveying uneven. Another important point is that the proper temperature should be maintained while mixing the concrete. The mixing process is incomplete if the temperature of the mixing water is lower than the freezing point of the concrete.

There are several models of concrete pumps available in the market. There are the well-known Tregillus concrete pump machines, which are reliable and easy to maintain. Next is the Komatsu concrete pump machine. And then there is the Kohler concrete pump machine. All these pumps perform the same function of mixing but have differences in some features. Refer to AIMIX Group to learn more.

The overall size of a mixer pump is measured in cubic meters. In order to measure the power required by the pump, the capacity of the motor power is also measured in cubic meters. Capacity is in turn determined by the size of the mixing container, which is generally made of plastic or stainless steel. The larger the container is, the more concrete it can contain.

There are two types of controls available in a diesel concrete mixer-secured and non-secure. In a secured mixer control system, the motor is placed on the shaft. This motor secures itself to the shaft so that only the operator, who holds the key, is able to open the shaft. Secured mixer control systems are recommended for single-person usage. In non-secure mixer control systems, the motor is not secured to the shaft, so it may be opened by an unauthorized person.

Diesel concrete mixing pumps are available in various designs and capacities. The most commonly used is the double-feed concrete mixer which pumps both water and cement simultaneously through the batch plant. Feed trucks are positioned at the end of the batch plant for mixing and convey the mixture to the desired location. These trucks can be manually operated or are mechanically controlled depending on the requirements.

Concrete pump impellers and pump valves are available to change the amount of concrete mixture produced. This feature is particularly helpful for pumping water or cement rapidly to different locations when machine downtime occurs. A concrete pumping and mixing machine can be moved from one site to another as per site requirements. It is important to consult a well-experienced concrete pumping and mixing machine service provider for proper guidance and advice on the appropriate concrete pumping equipment for your business requirements.
